| Business Standard Economy Policy News Prime India Healthcare Pvt Ltd, a medical tourism and healthcare recruitment company based in Chennai, is planning to launch electronic health cards in the country to store patient record. The company is also in talks with private equity players for raising funds through stake dilution. “We have plans to dilute 15-20 per cent stake to raise around Rs 2 crore for capex and opex,” said V Vinod Sharma, mentor of the company. Prime India, which is already offering electronic health cards to international clients as part of its medical tourism business, plans to offer similar cards in India in collaboration with hospitals, pharmacy retail chains and beauty wellness centres. The company is expected to launch the product first in Chennai within a month and is targeting to reach around 20 cities thereafter. The cards would be offered in seven cities, including top metros and Tier II, in three to four months, he added. The card, which comes with a USB drive, is designed to store the history of diseases of the cardholder and family and previous medical records in electronic format, which would help doctors provide the right medical treatment to the patient. Tying up with hospitals and pharmacy chains would enable the cardholder and family to receive discounts on medical bill and medicines. The company has tieups with around 24 healthcare service providers including MedPlus pharmacy chain, Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital and beauty and wellness market player VLCC, he added. |
