Business Standard Economy Policy News Facing challenges due to the current economic environment in the US, American architects are keen to work with their counterparts in India, seeking new business opportunities in the country. Leading a trade delegation of US architects here on Wednesday, American Institute of Architects (AIA) President Mickey Jacob said, "Economic challenges in the US have affected the profession. The purpose of the trade delegation is to help our members to find business overseas in view of the recession and to create jobs". We like to offer our architectural expertise in the areas of housing, office complexes, hotel and tourism," he told reporters.Asked about the difference in style between Indian and the US architecture, Jacob said, "The variance is in the dynamics of design between the two countries. Indian architecture is more sustainable in design and lifestyle." The delegation would also visit Bangalore and Chennai, he added. |
